Trump shot in ear at campaign rally

14 July, Kathmandu – Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a Saturday campaign rally, causing the Republican presidential candidate’s blood to streak across his face and prompting his security team to rush to his aid. Despite the chaos, Trump emerged moments later, fist raised and mouthing the words “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

The Secret Service reported that the shooter was dead, one rally attendee was killed, and two other spectators were injured. The incident is being investigated as an assassination attempt, according to a source from Reuters.

Trump, 78, had just begun his speech when the gunfire erupted. He grabbed his right ear with his hand, examined the blood, and then dropped to his knees behind the podium. Secret Service agents quickly surrounded him. About a minute later, Trump reappeared, his red “Make America Great Again” hat knocked off. He could be heard saying “wait, wait,” before raising his fist in the air. Agents then hurried him to a black SUV.

“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” Trump later posted on his Truth Social platform following the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, roughly 30 miles north of Pittsburgh. “Much bleeding took place.”

The shooter’s identity and motive remain unknown. Leading Republicans and Democrats swiftly condemned the violence.
