Two people who were issued a red notice by Interpol were arrested from the UAE
May 17, Kathmandu – Two absconding defendants who have been issued red notices by Interpol in the case of crime related to life and the case related to electronic transaction have been arrested.
Among those arrested are 41-year-old Bal Bahadur Limbu of Morang Letang Municipality-3 address and 23-year-old Santosh Neupane of Nawalparasi East Madhyabindu Municipality-13 address.
According to the Central Police, he was arrested in the UAE in coordination with the NCB Abu Dhabi UAE and was brought back to Nepal on Thursday for the purpose of being prosecuted in the related case.
Among those arrested, Bal Bahadur was issued an arrest warrant by the district court in Morang, and after it was revealed that he was in the UAE in connection with foreign employment, after a request was made by the local police office Letang Morang to search and arrest him at the international level, a red notice was issued by the General Secretariat of Interpol on February 7, 2024 at the request of NCB Kathmandu. was released.
Similarly, after an arrest warrant was issued by District Court Kathmandu for Santhosh in the case related to electronic transaction offense and it was revealed that he was in the UAE in connection with foreign employment, a red notice was issued by the Interpol Secretariat on July 10, 2023 at the request of NCB Kathmandu. .
Bal Bahadur has been handed over to Area Police Office Letang Morang and Santosh to Nepal Police Headquarters Cyber Bureau for necessary investigation and action, Nepal Police Headquarters Interpol Branch said.
