Lok Sabha Election: Yogi Adityanath Leads Mainpuri Roadshow with 14 Bulldozers

2 May, Lucknow – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led a significant roadshow in Mainpuri, the hometown of the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, in a show of support for BJP candidate Jaiveer Singh. The extensive roadshow stretched across three kilometers and featured fourteen bulldozers.

In this electoral battle, Dimple Yadav stands as the SP candidate, having clinched victory in a by-election two years ago, triumphing over the BJP candidate by a substantial margin of about 3 lakh votes. Mainpuri has remained a stronghold for the SP, having not lost in Lok Sabha elections since 1996.

However, the BJP has made notable strides, particularly evident in the 2022 assembly elections where they secured victory in two out of four assembly constituencies in the Mainpuri district.

The by-election was necessitated by the passing of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav in 2022, marking a significant turning point in the political landscape of Mainpuri.
