Last Energy to Build 30 Microreactors in Texas to Power Data Centres

MAR 1, KATHMANDU – US microreactor developer Last Energy, a US microreactor developer, has announced plans to construct 30 microreactors in Haskell County, northwest Texas, to meet the growing energy demands of local data centres.

The company has secured site control and filed for grid connection with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. The reactors, located on a 200-acre site, will deliver power through private wires and grid transmission.

The move is in response to the increasing demand from Texas-based data centre developers, and aims to help meet the state’s future energy needs, with data centres expected to drive 43 GW of additional power demand in the Dallas-Fort Worth area alone.
