New Homes Handed Over to 20 Underprivileged Families
May 17, Sunsari – A new house has been built and handed over to 20 families of underprivileged families located in Ward No. 2 Jhoratol Aurabani of Sunsari’s Garhi Rural Municipality.
Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Bhagbati Chaudhary handed over the building constructed in the settlement to the family during a program today.
The building was jointly constructed by Gadhi Rural Municipality Aurabani, Habitat for Humanity International Nepal and Sankalp Nepal under the Safe Housing Project with the aim of building safe land (transferring ownership of land to landless families) and safe housing for the landless Dalit/tribal tribes and extremely poor families located there. Completed.
The building was constructed on the land provided by the Gadhi rural municipality and handed over to the poor families. The project was signed on 20th Paush 2079 and was completed on 25th Falgun 2080. There are 2 rooms, balcony, kitchen, toilet in the building constructed under the aim of providing safe housing to poor families.
The building construction project was completed at a total cost of Rs 1 crore 750 thousand 2, including the cost of Rs 49 lakh 50 thousand from Garhi Rural Municipality, Rs 40 lakh two from Habitat for Humanity Nepal, Rs 18 lakh from Sankalp Nepal and labor donation equal to Rs 6 lakh from the householders.
